Why do I need to know the difference?
The processes for ordering or billing meals as a parent using the app, teacher using the register or administration staff using the meal manager reports are often different if you have a simple meal plan, in comparison to an advanced meal plan.
As the processes are often different, the instructions you need to follow may be different as well. In any article regarding Meal Manager, we will explain if a set of instructions is meant for simple or advanced meal plans, so you just need to know which one your school is using.
How can I tell the difference?
A simple meal plan allows users to simply select between School Meal, Packed Lunch or Offsite Meal.
An Advanced Meal plan not only provides these same choices, but if School Meal is selected, another layer of choices is available, where users can choose what specific items they would like from the menu.
An advanced meal plan menu could contain actual food items such as Jacket Potato or Cheese Sandwich or could simply include more general items such as Meat Option, Vegetarian Option and Gluten Free Option or even Red Option, Green Option and Blue Option, depending on your school's specific setup.
